Nomination of Ali Charara as Director of INS2I
Ali Charara, exceptional class professor at the Heudiasyc laboratory (UMR UTC CNRS 7253), is appointed director of the Institute of Information Sciences and Technologies (INS2I), from 1 January 2019. He will succeed Michel Bidoit who has held these positions since May 2013.
Director of the Heudiasyc laboratory from 2008 to 2017, Ali Charara conducts research activities in automatics and robotics, particularly on the observation and control of intelligent / autonomous vehicles. He contributed to the creation, in 2009, of the interdisciplinary Federation of Research Heterogeneous Systems in Interaction (SHIC - CNRS / Université de technologie de Compiègne), and in 2011, the Laboratory of Excellence Control of Technological Systems of Systems (Labex MS2T ); he directs these two structures until December 2018.
Between 2003 and 2006, he was project manager and then deputy scientific director at the CNRS (STIC department and then Engineering). He was elected to the National Committee for Scientific Research, Section 07, for two terms (2000-2003 and 2008-2012). Between 2005 and 2009, he was Deputy Scientific Director of the i-Trans competitiveness cluster, then a member of its Board of Directors from 2013 to 2017. In 2017, he contributed to the creation of the SIVALab joint laboratory between the Renault Group and Heudiasyc and sits on its steering committee.
